Today we were off to the Louvre. We had a sleep in, given the late night last night, and then we went off to explore.
We found a little market right at the metro stop, so we had a quick wander around before we got on the train. It was delightful.

We resisted the urge to buy all the berries we could see and got on the train.
The Louvre was only 6 stops away on our metro line, which made it a very easy journey. Our first impressions were…”I honestly thought that pyramid was smaller than that”

I don’t know why but we both thought it.
We were a bit early for our entry time so we went off for a walk along the Seine and have a look around. It certainly is the fancy end of town. Every where you look is extravagance.
Once in the museum we decided to head straight up to see the lady everyone is there to see.

That way we saw her and we could take our time with everything else. I think it was a good strategy because the crush to get to the front to be able to see the painting was crazy. There were two museum employees at the front yelling at people to keep moving “You need to keep moving! Everyone is here to see her!”
We had our look, snapped our photos and moved on. I really would have loved to spend more time studying it but there really was no option for that at all.
I was very mindful that Jacob is not a fan of art galleries in general and I really did try to keep it to stuff he would be interested in. We were there for 2.5 hours before he really cracked. He was tired and cranky already. We both had a little bit of a meltdown and then got very, very lost. I reckon it took us another half an hour, at least, to find our way out. Which meant I did get to see a bit more but it was not relaxing. Anyway, what we did see was truly amazing. I am really blown away that I am lucky enough to see some of these works in person.

We came back early to the hotel, so Jacob could rest and regroup and I could get the washing done. Because nothing say good times like hanging out in a Parisian launderette. Although, I did get some free entertainment with some random Tik Toker filming something.
