Today is a travel day. We were up early to make sure everything was packed and we headed off to the station for our 8:18am train, Venice to Milan (or Mulan, as Jacob calls it).
As it was a travel day, it was a little boring. A 2 hour trip to Milan and then we changed trains for Paris. We were greeted with Army personnel and people checking passports before we were able to board the train but that went quickly and we were off.
After a very uneventful trip, other than the Customs Officer barking at me, asking if I had bought cigarettes, it was very quiet. Not too many photo ops, you can never take good photos on a moving train, but we very much enjoyed watching the Alps go by.
We arrived at the most intimidating train station I have ever experienced, finally found the taxis (after I got attacked by a pigeon) and we arrived at our hotel by around 8pm. We got in, dropped our bags and went out for dinner.
